Our Kentucky Adventure

My sister had a baby. We hightailed it down to Vanderbilt Hospital in Tennessee a couple of weeks ago.

My goal was to make it there before the baby came. We made it :)

After that little guy arrived we stayed in Kentucky with my dad and step mom and my two youngest sisters. They live on a couple of acres. The view from the kitchen window is beautiful. From the living room window you see cows grazing.

It feels a bit like you've gone back in time. No dishwasher, no noisy TV. One morning cup of coffee easily turns into three. Conversation is easy and the day goes quickly.  The best part? The day we spent watching Pride and Prejudice (the good one, the one with Colin Firth), watching my sister braid Selah's hair.

Where the family dog is a very loved member of the family and playing outside for hours with cousins is the best thing in the world.

I loved sleeping with Gabe, falling into bed late at night, his head barely hit the pillow and he was "out."

Our time went by too quickly as it always does when we are there.   It just confirms my thoughts on how we need to make it happen more frequently, this time spent together for more than a couple hours at a time. That, and it reminds me of this one thing, just how much I love my family.

Our drive home flew by and I'm so proud of my little traveling buddies.

We couldn't wait to see daddy and Isaac. They were so sweet. When we got home they had surprises waiting for us! Gabe had a new baseball cap and airplane, Selah had a new shirt and mommy got a new clock that I can hook my phone to and listen to my music while I'm getting ready for the day. So sweet of our guys to think of us :)

We've been back home for a little over a week now, daddy has been gone but comes home tonight. We've been busy starting soccer and having family in town. I will have more posts in the next couple of days.

Here's to remembering the sweet things.  Like new babies and cousins who love 'em. And to sisters being together.

Happy Monday out there!

XOXO,
Angie
