Road Trip!

We roll out of town Tuesday after Isaac gets out of school. We are headed to New York to spend Thanksgiving with Joe's family. The first time Gabe and Selah meet their grandma, Isaac's second. We are super, duper excited.

I love road trips. Like, I sometimes feel a little sad when we arrive at our destination. I know, I'm weird. Joe thinks I'm crazy. That's just because he's not a fan of talking.  It usually takes a good few hours before we get to the really good conversation. I'm looking forward to that. After the kids doze off and we can talk about more than the immediate, more than the task at hand. We can talk about things we want to do with our family, places we want to go. I always have a slew of those what's your favorite thing about being a dad or what was the best day of your life type of questions. And after his initial eye rolling he will give in...or hope that I fall asleep. Either way, I can't wait. It's gonna be great. There's just something about having all my people in one spot at the same time. They can't get away, no TV, no distractions. Just us. Memory making at it's finest if you ask me. It's gonna be great! Wait, did I say that already?

Can't wait.

Can't wait.

Can't wait!!!

And after some great time spent with not often seen family, where cousins become better acquainted, yummy food, staying up way too late, lazy mornings and much more, I love that we get to hop back in the car and do it all over again. Road trip bookends with lots of love sandwiched in between. Sounds pretty great to me. The only thing that could make it better would be to bring all of my family along. That would be heaven. Maybe someday...

Happy Sunday. I'm off to give littles their baths and ready 'em up for church.

XOXO,
Angie

...forgot to mention how much I'm looking forward to frequent Starbucks stops and lots of good music....

  1. Safe travels. I hope you have a great time with your family.....husband's family.

(The man I posted about that was missing was found today. I got excited thinking he was found alive but he wasn't. It's so sad for the family.
At least he has been found and they won't always wonder what happened)
